Activities suspended until further notice

Following today’s announcement by the Prime Minister, Scouts UK have confirmed that all face-to-face Scout meetings, activities and events must be suspended from Tuesday, 17 March 2020 until further notice.

The safety of everyone involved in Scouts, both young people and adults, is our number one priority.

UK Chief Commissioner, Tim Kidd has said in a statement tonight:

“I think we all agree that it’s in challenging times like these, that our Scout values matter most. We are talking to the Government and other community organisations to see how Scouts can support our country during this crisis. We must make sure that we do this in the safest possible way, and don’t put anyone at further risk. We will update you more on this over the coming weeks.”

We realise that this will be disappointing for the many youngsters in our sections here in Westhill. However section leaders will look to suggest activities that can be completed at home during this period to help achieve badges.

Further details about previously organised events and activities e.g. family camp 2020, will be communicated to parents in the coming days.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
