Queens Scout Award to Jonathan Reeks

 

Queens Scout Award  

Congratulations to former Westhill Beaver/Cub/Scout and Explorer, Jonathan Reeks
who was recently presented with his Queen’s Scout Award by Westhill Group
Scout Leader, Chris Pinnell.  District Commission Andy Till added his congratulations to Jonathan.

The Queen’s Scout Award is the top achievement for Explorer Scouts and Scout
Network members and requires a number of activities and challenges to be
completed including 18 nights away and international, community & values based
activities.


Jonathan undertook many activities to achieve his award including participating in
an expedition to Iceland, rowing, becoming a Childline Call handler and assisting with
Redwood Beavers.

Jonathan now lives in London and is studying lighting design at the Guildhall
School of Music and Drama

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
